mag.net (2012)

Consisting of performances in an architectural installation, mag.net explores matter-force relations by making visible the magnetic force fields that emerge between inert (the physical installation) and human bodies in motion (performers). This was achieved by enveloping the white gallery space with a three-dimensional spider-like web, which contained components sensitive to magnetic force. As the performers moved through the installation the magnets embedded in their costumes responded and interacted with the installation, creating a change in the physical configuration of the entire space.

A collaboration with e+i studio, a NYC-based architecture and design practice.

6 performances at Gallery on White, NYC.

The project was supported by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.
