Abstract I (2009)
Abstract I was a 60-minutes performative work created for Bethlehem's public library, a site that connected the two main festival grounds. I chose this particular place because I was interested in creating a piece that not only responded to the architecture of the building but also to the immediate context of the site. Performed entirely in silence, the intention of Abstract I was to set a quiet and sensitive counterpoint to the goings-on around, and to invite the viewer to get lost in an "island of contemplation" in the midst of the buzzing music festival. 9 performances.
